Do we miss wheat bread? Sometimes. The hardest thing about a restricted diet is trying to replace basic comfort foods. That’s why we work hard to create recipes that invoke all of the same flavors and feelings of their allergen-inducing, tasty counter-parts! And what could be better than a BLT with fries? Well, our delicious Tempeh version, packed with protein, nutrients, and good fats. Tempeh makes for a classically delicious sandwich, especially when paired with our Amazing Anything Bread and oven baked, sweet potato fries!
We like to add avocado slices, veganaise (or mayonnaise!), cucumber slices, tomatoes and/or spinach. The possibilities are endless! Read more about tempeh and the health benefits here.
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (gluten free!)
- 1-2 tbsp sesame seed oil, enough to coat the bottom of your saucepan.
- Other oil substitutions work, our favorite is avocado oil!
- 1 package unflavored tempeh, sliced ⅛” thick.
Add all ingredients to a saucepan and fry on medium-high heat until brown and crispy!
